In this episode, I go over slip defense. Specifically, counter cross and hook off the slip. Everyone has their own style and preference so play with the technique to see what works best for you. In this video I briefly explained a few options you have while defending.
1) Defend and smother- this works best when you are hurt
2) Defend and counter- this is what I show in the video
3) Defend and retreat- similar to when you're hurt this one you simply defend and move out of harms way
4) Defend and reposition- this is similar to counter in which to create an angle to position your shot off
In this video I show Daniel how to slip and counter. Key things to look for:
- Bend your knees!
- Keep your hands up! (unless you're Mayweather)
- Bend and the waist
- Get your head off center line
- Depending on which side you are countering with if you counter with right hand place most of your weight on your right foot vice versa if you counter with your left hand place most of your weight on your left foot.
