"Morning Has Broken" was written by Eleanor Farjeon as a Christian hymn in 1931. It became known worldwide when Cat Stevens (who later changed his name to Yusuf Islam) recorded it for his 1971 album "Teaser and the Firecat". It became one of his biggest hits, and a signature song.
