Centered in Sunlight | a film by The Wyoming Wildlife Federation The 7D Ranch got its name when Lee and Dewey Dominick bought the operation in 1958. The two of them and their five children provided the name 7D, for the seven Dominicks. Meade Dominick, who grew up on the ranch, is the third generation to come into a management role. He and his wife Andrea now manage the family's guest ranch operation. They also own 7D Outfitting, a hunting operation specializing in northern Absaroka Range bighorn sheep hunts.

Operations like the 7D, located just north of Cody, WY are an integral part of the region's culture and wildlife. They also play a crucial role in Wyoming communities. Remote working lands like 7D provide opportunities for conservation measures to have positive and lasting effects both ecologically and economically.

Currently, with the help of researchers and conservation groups, wildlife managers in Wyoming are working on management plans to conserve critical migration corridors throughout the state. Protecting these corridors requires collective efforts from all public land and wildlife users, as well as working with private landowners and industry interest. TAKE ACTION |

WWF took a ride into one of 7D's remote sheep camps in the Absarokas, ahead of the 2019 season. We had a hearty discussion with Meade Dominick on the interrelationships between ranching, outfitting, community, and conservation. We hope you enjoy.
