A review of findings from 18 studies found that individuals with lower vitamin D levels have an increased risk for headaches, especially migraines. The findings suggest that patients with headaches should be screened for vitamin D insufficiency or deficiency and should take steps to improve their vitamin D status as part of the recovery process.
