Richie Reseda, The Man Who Created The Law That Eventually Got Him Out Of Prison | Re: Extended

Richie Reseda, The Man Who Created The Law That Eventually Got Him Out Of Prison | Re: Extended Richie Reseda’s life changed after facing 150 years to double life for a robbery he committed as a teenager. Being envious of the birds and how they freely exist in the world, Reseda sought for his own freedom through community organizing. Working with his wife Taina Vargas-Edmond, Patrice Collours (#BlackLivesMatter), Mark Anthony Johnson (Dignity and Power Now!), and many others, he gained enough support from the community to change Prop 57 — the law that ended up shedding 2 years off of his sentencing.

With the launch of Success Stories, a community group he created while in prison, he has been able to change 4 laws to bring people home and make conditions for people impacted by incarceration more human. His #anti-patriarchy work is helping over 22,000 men in California prisons seek rehabilitation through the feminist lens.
