For the past few months, Bekele has been training specifically for the London Marathon that will be on April 26th, 2020, and at long last we now know that he is certainly in top shape. Originally, this race was scheduled to include both Kenenisa Bekele and Mo Farah, however after small achilles tendon issues, Farah was forced to drop out of the race.
In a completely dominant display of half marathon racing, Bekele won the race by almost a minute, plus he broke Mo Farah's previous course record by 1:18 seconds, which coincidentally is the exact same time different that Kipchoge put on the previous world record when he ran his 2:01:39 on September 16th, 2018.
This was only a taste of what is to come in London this year, and I can't wait to see Bekele race against Kipchoge!
Thanks for watching!
