In Real Estate Investing, Is Owning a Rental Property Worth the Headache?

In Real Estate Investing, Is Owning a Rental Property Worth the Headache?

Owning a rental property can be of two types:
• It can be a residential letting
• Or it can be a commercial property given on lease to a good company.
There’s a difference between the two and either one of them will create a monthly rental income for you. It definitely is worth investing in rental properties.
If you buy a residential apartment and plan to create rental out of it, you need to find one or two tenants who can jointly own the property and then you need to collect monthly rental income from them.
It also requires wear and tear. It also requires brokerage because it is an 11-month contract which is renewed every year.
Obviously, getting into commercial leasing is much easier.
You have a corporate client who is running a successful business - probably a corporation worth Rs. 100-200 crores. They will be happy to lease it for 9 years. That means you get a lock to lock fee which gets extended after every 3 years.

So, my opinion is go for commercial leasing and owning a rental property, either residential or commercial is definitely worth the right time and energy for you.
