How to Wash Your Hands to Protect Against Coronavirus and Other Illnesses

How to Wash Your Hands to Protect Against Coronavirus and Other Illnesses One of the main methods of protection against COVID-19 and other viruses and bacteria is actually pretty simple: wash your hands!

Todd Ellerin, MD, Director of Infectious Disease at South Shore Health, shows you how to properly wash and dry your hands to keep yourself from getting sick.

If soap and water aren't available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol) can be used as an alternative.

Remember, good hand hygiene shouldn't be an occasional thing! Regularly washing your hands is a great way to stay healthy year-round.
