Taragarh Fort Bundi - One of the Oldest Forts of India

Bundi once known Vrindavati has been ruled over by several rulers. 30 km away from Kota, this small town surrounded by Aravali Hills is known for its majestic Taragarh Fort which was constructed in 1341while some say that Taragarh Fort Bundi was built in 1354. Also there are different facts on who built this fort. Bundi was conquered from Meena kings by Hada Chauhans and the rest is history. Hada Kings later expanded their kingdom and powers.

Taragarh Fort Bundi is standing on the heart of Bundi since time immortal. Unlike other forts of Rajasthan, Taragarh Fort Bundi is built with green serpentine stones. The fort is massive and is made up of several impressive structures. One of them is Chitrashala which is an art gallery. This art gallery is a live example of Bundi's miniature art which is said to be unique in its form.

The entry ticket is 80 INR for Indian tourists.
Timings : Summers: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM,
Winters: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
