The New Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad would be the largest of all time in terms of seats, beating even the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which holds over a lakhs of people in it. The Gujarat Cricket Association owned stadium was previously inaugurated in 1982 with a capacity of 49,000 and was demolished to make it bigger and equipped with modern facilities. The capacity has been increased to a lakh and ten thousand plus and covers an area of 63 acres. The stadium would be inaugurated on Feb 24th in the presence of US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Modi.
