Instacart’s On Demand offers shoppers more scheduling flexibility

"Dear Shopper,

Over the past several months, we’ve been rolling out On-Demand, a new, more flexible way to shop. Starting February 18, all batches in your region will be available exclusively On-Demand, so you can choose the batch you want to shop at the time that is best for your schedule. This coming week of February 9 will be the final week to select hours in your region; starting February 18, all batches will be available on the main dashboard.

Along with this transition, shoppers in your region will be offered batches based on your average customer star rating, starting with the highest rated shoppers. By prioritizing batches in this way, we are recognizing shoppers’ high-quality service and encouraging others to aim for the best possible experience for customers.

To view your star rating and learn how to get the best chance at first access to batches, you can visit the “How Am I Doing?” page in the Shopper app. If you’re looking to improve, you can also visit Carrot Academy to try some of the optional new lessons we’ve introduced to get better with every order. To visit Carrot Academy, go to the “How Am I Doing?” page in the Shopper app, and select “Improve your skills with lessons.” You can also visit the Help Center for more information.
