Pomfrets are perciform fishes belong to the Bramidae family. The family consists of 20 species. They are normally found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. The largest species, the Atlantic pomfret, Brama brama, grows up to 3 ft long. The fish meat is white in color.
