💪We’ve all been told that plant molecules like polyphenols can act as hormetics in the body (compounds at which a small amount can be beneficial, but at large amounts can be toxic). I have several problems with this perspective, however. As I describe in this video, the first of these is that this perspective ignores many of the damaging side effects these foreign molecules can have in our body. All too often the research we are presented with ignores these collaterally damaging effects. Furthermore, I am not convinced that these molecules provide any net benefit beyond that which we can achieve by living a radical life (heat, cold, exercise, sun, fasting/ketosis).
