Excellent news to relish is that the State of Tamil Nadu has been the most popular with the maximum number of foreign tourists for 5 consecutive years from the year 2014 to 2018!

The number of foreign tourists who are fascinated with Tamil culture and lifestyle has been increasing steadily!

The various festivals in Tamil Nadu as per the Hindu almanack, as well as the regular cultural programmes in the state help, attract the foreign tourists and also ensures their longer stay in India!

Because of the above attributes, the number of foreign tourists visiting Tamil Nadu has been increasing steadily multiple times!

In this scenario, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has planned to conduct a mammoth programme - a Bharathanatyam programme with a record number of 10000 dancers at Chennai Gowriwakkam SIVET College as an attempt to create a world record. The programme is titled ‘Sathir 10000’.

All Bharathanatyam exponents and learners from various schools, colleges, and dance schools are invited earnestly to join this endeavour and help the event to be a great grand success!

The participants will be awarded certificates from the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation

The nature of Tamil culture, literature, folklore, and cultural fests are celebrated all over the world. The uniqueness of Tamil and Dravidian Lands gets more light as “Sathir 10000” come alive. An unbelievable event where more than 10,000 Bharatanatyam dancers from all age groups will perform “Bharatanatyam” on a single stage. This impressive feat by Tamil Nadu government is an attempt to get the Guinness World Record.

Over 7,500 students to attempt Guinness record in Bharatanatyam today

More than 7,500 Bharatanatyam dancers from various schools and colleges across the State will be performing here on Saturday in an attempt to set a new Guinness record for a maximum number of people performing the classical dance on a single stage.

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), which is organising the Guinness record event on largest Bharatanatyam dance event, is targeting 10,000 dancers’ participation, and had accordingly titled it ‘Sathir 10,000’. The existing record in Bharatanatyam dance was set by a private trust in Chidambaram on March 3, 2019, when 7,190 participants took to stage. The dance was performed as a reverence to Lord Nataraja, who is considered to be the creator of the dance form.
