When the trailer for “Dolittle” first dropped, we had such high hopes! Robert Downey, Jr. was to lead an all-star cast in an exciting adventure movie about a man who could talk to animals. It looked like it would be a nice homage to the original book series and the 1967 Rex Harrison film, “Dr. Dolittle.” But Universal Studios dropped the ball on this new movie, and the critics are tearing it apart. The movie has so many characters and so many storylines that it’s hard to follow.
Instead of a cohesive action-adventure movie, it’s a bunch of sarcastic one-liners and vulgar jokes for kids. And some of these moments completely cross the line. The movie had a huge budget, which makes it even stranger to see all the crude jokes, poor CGI, and nonsensical plot. Check out these ten moments from “Dolittle” that were just too much.
